Nick’s idea was to build a affordable camera which could be attached to to the photographer body to take quality close up video easily. As a result GoPro and GoPro Camera has been born.
The first version of the camera was water proof, wifi enabled, remote controlled with 64 GB of memory. Initial price of the camera was around $300.
He realized that he was on something when one Japanese company ordered 100 camera from his company. From that point of time the growth of his company has seen tremendous growth. In 2012 itself, company sold around 2.3 Million camera.
On June 24 2014 finally his company went in public and listed in NASDAQ under the ticker symbol GPRO.
